This highly regarded qualification can be delivered across the UK at your location to meet your needs.
The National Diploma in Emergency Response Driving Instruction is the only emergency response driving Instructor qualification that is non-vehicle or service specific therefore it can be delivered to all Emergency Services on all types of vehicles.
The courses are designed to provide the knowledge and skills required to deliver and assess Advanced driving and Emergency Response Driving.
We have the experience and skills to deliver Instructor training on all vehicle categories used by the Emergency Services.
Please note: Instructor training is only available to statutory Emergency Services who wish to deliver training to their staff and not on a commercial basis.
Individual courses content may include:
- The UK High Speed Driver Training (HSDT) codes of practice
- Section 19 of the UK Road Safety Act
- Instructor/Assessor Competency as per the HSDT codes of practice
- The approved NHS Ambulance driver training standards.
- The approved UK Police Service driver training standards.
- Fire Service NFPA 1002
- CAA CAP 699
We provide a free on-line study facility which assists the candidate’s pre-course learning and reduces course duration and costs.

The courses are recommended for drivers with a minimum of 3 years experience and who have successfully completed an emergency response driver training course or re-assessment on the vehicle category they wish to deliver training on within a 3 year period prior to attending an Instructors course.
The Instructor will be assessed by a RoSPA Senior Examiner
Successful candidates will receive a National Diploma in Emergency Response Driving Instruction accredited by RoSPA and a certificate from ERDT Ltd which will list the RoSPA accredited course content written in-line with the HSDT Instructor competency, they will also receive an Instructor development portfolio in-line with the UK HSDT Instructor competency.
The standard course duration is 10 days.
The courses are delivered by highly qualified Senior Ex-Emergency Driving Instructors with many years’ experience.

Working in association with BAS Training associates Ltd we can offer the SFJ (QCF) Level 3 Award in Education and Training (previously PTLLS) and the SFJ (QCF) Level 3 Award in Assessing (previously A1 assessor) the awards will require the candidate to complete additional pre and post course work.
