C1 Ambulance Driver Training

Emergency Response Driver Training Ltd (ERDT) offers Cat C1 Ambulance driving courses to individuals, Ambulances Services and Collages & Universities.

All our trainers are ex Emergency Services driver trainers with the experience and qualifications to deliver Cat C1 Licence driver training.

Who needs a Cat C1 Licence?
Anyone who passed a car driving test on or after January 1st, 1997 that wishes to drive an Ambulance that weighs between 3500kg – 7500kg on the public roads.

Option 1) 20 hours 2-2-1 £600 pp inc VAT (No experience of Ambulances or Large Vans)

Option 2) 16 hours 1-2-1 £880 pp inc VAT (No experience of Ambulances or Large Vans)

Option 3) 16 hours 2-2-1 £510 pp inc VAT (Currently driving an Ambulances or Large Vans)

Training is available 7 days a week, you could train on Sat & Sun and sit your test on Mon.

Cost includes: Midweek practical DVSA driving test, Saturday test incurred a £30 charge.

Prior to attending the course, you will have to be 18+, undertake a Medical and apply for a Provisional Licence, you will then have to pass your theory and hazard perception test. Once completed you are then ready attend the course and take your DVSA C1 driving test.

Medical: Take along a D4 form for your GP to complete then send to the DVLA.

Theory & Hazard Perception Tests: You will have to answer 100 multiple choice questions, and 19 video clips for your hazard perception tests.

DVSA Test: ‘Show Me Tell Me Questions’, Reversing Exercise, On Road Driving Test.

Individual Courses: Will be delivered at our location near Wetherby Yorkshire, the location includes a suitable reversing area and a DVSA LGV driving test centre within 5 miles.

Group Courses: Can be delivered across the UK at your location.
Accommodation our location: We can provide accommodation in individual lodges from £50 per night B&B or £60 DBB subject to availability.

Please Note: Emergency response driving courses using blue lights & sirens are not available to members of the public and any course enquiry must be submitted through your Emergency Service or organisation.
