Emergency Response Driver Training Ltd (ERDT) offers Cat C1 Ambulance driving courses to individuals, Ambulances Services and Collages & Universities.

Course Overview

Our C1 course is delivered in our IVECO Ambulance driver training vehicle, “learn in an Ambulance to drive an Ambulance”

Who needs a Cat C1 Licence?

Anyone who passed a car driving test on or after January 1st, 1997 that wishes to drive an Ambulance that weighs between 3500kg – 7500kg on the public roads.

Pre-Course Requirements

Prior to attending the course, you will have to be 18+, undertake a Medical and hold a C1 Provisional Licence and passed your theory and hazard perception test, know you are ready to attend the course and take your DVSA C1 driving test.

Our 12 Hour Course


  • 12 hours one to one training using our Ambulance
  • C1 Drivers Medical can be arranged
  • Access to on-line theory test training
  • C1 Theory test and hazard perception test
  • Midweek practical DVSA driving test

Training Location

Course are delivered at our location near Wetherby Yorkshire, the location includes a suitable reversing area and a DVSA LGV driving test centre within 5 miles.
